The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn
Anna Fox, a middle aged woman, has an apartment in Manhattan, she is often seen looking through the glass window, of her house, looking at everyone, she knows almost everyone out there, she has seen them fighting, crying, rejoicing, playing , almost everything. Besides, that she is an alcoholic who drinks no less than 2 – 3 bottles of wine a day, has a cat to take care of, and watches classic movies.
Her husband left her, taking along their only 8 year old daughter. They do have a talk, and literally begs him to come back, but all in vain. She‘s been a child psychologist (and a good one, I must say). Still gives advice to patients, via mail, but otherwise, all alone by herself, enjoys catching up on flicks, being with her cat, a tenant.
But, the truth is for all to see, the Russells are quite quarrelsome. Ethan is also heard saying that his father gets angry at the slightest of things, and that he and his mother don’t know what triggers him, Anna also sees that, with her binoculars and one fine day sees him hitting Ethan and his mother.
