The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
First published in the 1840s, “The Count of Monte Cristo” became the talk of the town due to its classic tales with an outstanding narration. Inspired by a true life story, the book follows a man “Edmond Dantes”, who was imprisoned falsely. He is only confined to the grim fortress of If until he learns of a great hoard of treasure hidden on the Isle of Monte Cristo.
He also plans to avenge for the false charges that led him to that position.
The novel reveals the sufferings, perseverance and sorrowful events yet interesting about this young man.
