Persepolis, Volume 1 (Persepolis #1) by Marjane Satrapi
Autobiography of Iranian Marjane Satrapi is quite interesting and engaging for the fans. It is the inspirational story that how Marjane Satrapi grew and managed her in Islamic fundamentalist regime due to which one day she has to leave her country. In the story, She has also narrated the fifty years of the reign of Shah of Persia and how it becomes the Islamic republic.
She explained about her high-class family due to which unlike other children she got the opportunity to get the education in western style. Her parents were of progressive ideology and were supporters of moderate Islamism. She also uses to live in her world of imaginations so she even uses to converse with God and even she imagines His resemblance to Karl Marx. Even her dream of becoming one of the last prophets to follow the footsteps of Muhammad and Jesus was not less than any curiousness.
It is the beautiful story of an unforgettable childhood that for which she used to feel nostalgic even today. So it is quite interesting story bit heartbreaking but threaded beautifully with humour and wisdom to entertain the readers.
