The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
It’s the summer of 1922, Nick Carraway, A graduate from Yale University and an old timer of Great War from the Midwest, who is also the novel’s narrator- He rents a small house in Long Island, in the imaginary village of West Egg, which is next door to the grand mansion of Jay Gatsby, who is a suspicious multi-millionaire, who keeps throwing parties but keeps away from them, himself. They introduce Nick to Jordan Baker, who is an attractive, and doubtful young golf lover. She tells to Nick that Tom is having a mistress, called Myrtle Wilson, who lives in the ‘valley of ashes’, which is an industrial dumping ground between West Egg and New York City. A little while after this, Nick goes to New York city along with Tom and Myrtle, to an apartment which tom uses as a hotel room for Myrtle, and other women who come to meet him (for obvious reasons).
